"My righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." "Without faith, it is impossible to please God." Tidbits from Hebrews 10 and 11. Actually, more than tidbits. I'm talking about a whole meal of food. A meal that truly satisfies and nourishes the very things that are really important. Where is this truth in my life? Why is this so strange of a topic these days? Faith is required every day. I have faith this chair will hold me up when I sit down. We live in faith in normal things. How is my faith in God while I live in this world? The world doesn't seem to promote faith in God, but faith in my self. Yet, the struggles, discouragements, and attacks seem to encourage it in a weird, backwards way. Like reverse psychology, it should drive me to more faith in God. We live to please men so much, we are developing faith in man. To cultivate a real life relationship with God while we still are human is going to require regular exercise of wanting to please God more than anything else. This is going to require faith in Him, plain and simple. As His disciple, we must cultivate faith and make it a part of our life practice. Let's not count out God as the major factor when it comes to dealing with this life and the next. Men, don't shrink back. Stand strong; believe; trust; rise up; finish; have faith.
