Ephesians 1:1-14.
Paul is writing a letter from prison to the church in Ephesus. The good news of the gospel has been revealed to him and he is excited to share it with everyone. He now knows it's all about Jesus. Jesus is the source of our true blessings in this life and the next. God had a plan from the beginning to deal with the problem of sin because He loves us. Through Jesus we can have forgiveness of our sins and stand blameless before Him. This first section lays the foundation of the plan revealed: God is building a church population and He has chosen us. It's an amazing truth and it's good news.
We must be strong in forgiveness. We must be strong in representing this good news gospel story. We must be strong in going to Jesus as our source of blessings.
