The Man of Peace
4/27/13
The Man of Peace is a balanced man.  He is connected to The Man; therefore, he has in balance and available to him all of The Man's characteristics.  All of the traits seem to lead to...peace.  We see this in the amazing realization of Jesus asleep in the stern of the boat.  This is no ordinary storm.  These are not greenhorn sailors.  These are salty dogs, familiar with sudden, violent storms that pop up on this body of water.  So this must have been exceptionally dangerous to them.  "Don't you care if we drown?"  Oh, if only they knew how much He did care for them.  It took only one word, translated, "Enough!", from Jesus.  The wind and waves immediately stopped in their tracks.  I don't think they slowly died down.  I think the molecules ceased to move and it was a miracle.  Notice the exclamation point used in this command.  This is straight from the creator of these natural elements.  He knows the intricacies of His creation, and they must obey.  They are lesser, He is greater.  Please, take note of this, my friends.  Our storms are not too difficult for Him to handle.  He can take care of our situations in less than a heartbeat.  He can fix that marriage or heal that cancer.  The issue is not with His capability.  The issue may be beyond our understanding.  We learned last week that the Man of Trust doesn't understand everything.  He understands his limited position as a lesser and  must respond by simply trusting the Greater.

I think He may have calmed the waters and wind so they may know Him.  He revealed Himself more in that moment.  And they really needed it, right?  It seems all along, they just don't quite get it, even finally fleeing when the pressure was on at the cross.  So, do you know Him?  That is the main thing.  If you do, maybe He knows what you do and don't need after that point.  Maybe you don't need your situation "fixed".  Maybe there's alot more going on behind the scenes.  Maybe since you know Him, He is able to do even more in the spirit world than you can fathom, imagine, or understand.  And what I'm finding, is that it seems to always blow away my image of success.  We are so deeply connected and committed to a life that is "good" and "successful".  I notice that's how I pray too.  I pray for everything to be alright and perfect.  I guess I'm longing for heaven!  Well, we're not quite there yet.  As my friends in New York would say, "Forget about it!"  Until then, we must trust Him.  If we trust Him, we can have peace, no matter what happens.  He does care.  Relax.  Breathe.  Rest.  Stay connected.  Stick with Him.  Keep running.  Don't give up.  He's working behind the scenes and ahead of you.  He is our confidence.  He is our esteem.  He is our identity.  He is our salvation.  He is our life.  He is The Man!  Be gone, fears.  Rise up, people.  Be strong and courageous, o' Man of God.  Peace.
