"Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will.raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (James 5:13-16)
Prayer works. It is as simple as that. And our prayers are actually heard by God himself. (If in doubt, check out Daniel 10:12 again.) But are we praying, or are we just coasting, thinking that God will do whatever He wants to do no matter if we pray or not? How many busy days go by where we still don't pray? We always say that prayer is good and that we should be doing it, so what's the hold up? Prayer is the medium of communication into the spiritual world. Even Satan knows when our prayers are lifted up, and it scares him. He hates our prayers. They threaten his agenda to bring us down. Why? Because he knows that when God hears our prayers He will respond with all the blessings He has been waiting to give us. Then we will come closer to God and our faith will grow strong. So if Satan can keep us from praying, he can be successful in keeping us ineffective in working for God's kingdom and experiencing God's plans and blessings for our lives.
What a shame it will be if when we stand before Him oneday and all of God's potential desires, wishes, plans, and gifts are revealed. We will then see the whole picture of His complete will. So let us not miss out while we are still yet living. God is waiting. Angels gather around the throne and raise shouts of encouragement. They want us to know and experience what God has in His hands to give us. They can see it, but we dont, YET! Let us pray...
