Meeting 2/22/19
Trust the Lord again today...

Every day brings a choice with it.  No matter what we are going through, we each have a choice whether to trust God or trust ourselves.  I know I've proven my heart to not be trustworthy, but I sure do easily return to it time and time again!  Thank God for His grace and mercy, for left to my own devices, I don't have a chance.  With God, I have a plethora of chances.  But I do have to choose this day whom I will serve and trust.  Yes, He knows what we are going through.  He knows the struggle and He knows what's best for us.  After all, it is He alone that loves us perfectly and completely.  He won't give us second best.  He is the perfect Shepherd and Savior.  Heaven is right around the corner, friends.  Healing is just a breath away.  You're closer to your breakthrough than ever before.  Good things are coming soon.  His promises are on the way.  He's heard your prayers.  The answers have been sent.  The provision has been allotted.  The victory is won!

Take a breath.  Exhale the pain, sadness, frustration, anxiety, tension, anger, bitterness, and resentment.  Let it go.  Truly let it fall into His hands.  Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.  May He Himself encourage you today to once again place your trust in Him.  Don't take matters into your own hands.  Put your matters in His hands and wait expectantly with patience.  He is faithful to take care of your needs.

Search the word 'trust' in your bible.  Take a tour of the verses that include that verb.  Let the journey bring about healing and rejuvenation.  Let it reset your thought patterns and perspectives.  Let it remind you of your calling to trust in God.  Jeremiah 17 describes the contrast of one who trusts in his own flesh versus the one who puts their trust in God.  Oh, Lord forgive me for my independence and bent towards doing things on my own strength.  I choose today to put my confidence in You again.  I choose to trust You again with all my struggles today.

The Lord's gravitational pull is strong, drawing me back to Proverbs 3:5-6.  "Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."

Leaning on our own understanding is destroying us.  We have enslaved ourselves to knowledge and we think we know how things should turn out for ourselves.  So when things turn out 'badly', we lose heart and turn away from faith and trust.  Consider this today: He may have something way better than you ever dreamed.  "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Our expectations have derailed us.  Our preconceived knowledge has set us up for failure.  We think we know how things should go.  We think we know best.  Of course, it's all selfishness and sinful nature-driven, just to be clear.  We are not in heaven yet, so life isn't going to be all peachy and perfect on our behalf.  Things aren't going to be wrapped in rainbows in the time and way we would magically hope, if we had our way.  Jesus said there would be trouble in this world.  But we are to take heart, be of good courage and cheer, for He has overcome the world.  We became His disciples by denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following Him.  He bought us with a price. We are no longer our own.  We are now children of God and heirs to His inheritance.  We are now in His hands and we can trust that He is completely good, even when things don't seem that way at the moment.  He has a way of turning things around.  Our difficulties aren't difficult for Him to handle or change or heal or solve or whatever the need.  He is the Creator God, abounding in love, and capable of miracles still today.  He is our 'somehow' for whatever we are up against.  He is the 'satisfier' of our deepest longings and desires.  Believe again today.  Trust again today.  Have faith again today.
