7.  Singed

(Matt. 15:29-39; Mark 6:30-44; 8:1-21)

Seeds of bitterness keep running through my head.

I can’t escape the hunger, this feeling I dread.  Sinking deeper

into roots that I can’t shake.

 I can’t give anymore, I feel it’s all I can take.

Ha-ha!  Who you gonna feed with that?

Ha-ha!  Who are you looking at?

Break the bread and singe my heart.

Sear my soul lest I forget!

Melt my mind into clarity.

Burn my eyes that I might see.  Yeah.

Burn my eyes that I might see.

The trail is long and tough, this climb will never end.

When every summit reveals another hill to win.  Who’s gonna

take me there to my place of solitude?

Who’s gonna give me rest and change my attitude?

You can never give up.  You can never give in.

The miracle’s done.  Now I’m singed.  Yeah, now I’m singed…
