Healing  Sometimes we have to look beyond our worldly perspective to understand how God is working.  This song is dedicated to our fallen firefighter brother, Brian “ShrekHunton.  Just as Jesus was “unfairly” treated on the road to the cross, it doesn’t seem fair that Brian was taken from us.  Yet we are convinced that Shrek heard nothing but the cries of God’s love from the brotherhood during his last hours with us.   Because of his death, many people have found new life.  It wasn’t because somebody sinned, but that God would be revealed when the ultimate healing occurred.  Sometimes healing doesn’t look like we think it should, but to receive heaven is to receive the ultimate healing.  As we also receive God’s gift of salvation, we will again see Shrek someday in glory.  That’s healing.

Healing

(2 Ki. 20:8-11; Ps. 56:13; 147:3; Isa. 14:12; 53:11; Lk. 10:18; Jn. 1:4-5; 3:30; 8:12; 9:3-7; Rev. 9:1; 12:9-10)

I saw a star as lightning fall into the sea.  I watched a shadow reversing and roll into the street.  I watched the Light of Life pour in and flood into me.  I saw a star as lightning fall into the sea.  Take me down to the fire light.  Because when heroes fall, everybody cries.  I want to go down, down to the sea of blue to where I never forget, never forget, never forget the things you said.  Never forget, never forget, voices echo in my head.  Neither him nor them, but that God would be revealed.  A mix of mud and love on my eyes that I could be healed.  Splashing springs in the pool of Siloam, my wounds were sealed.  Neither him nor them, but that God would be revealed.  Ah!  There it is before me.  Angels whisper my name to receive.  So I reach and I grab it, tear it open, and Lord, I put it on!  And then I see you there!
