Embers  It is tough to make it through this life alone.  It is better to have a friend to walk with, despite differences.  Only God can accomplish unity.  We err in thinking everyone should be the same.  God intended our unique abilities and talents to be used together for his glory.  Good friends bring out the best in each other.  They stick together through thick and thin, to the end.  There’s something to be said about the bond created by lifelong friends.  Somehow it is tied all the way back to the garden of Eden where God started our human story with his creation.  In that sense, we may have different last names, but inside we are related by one blood, going way back.  This song is dedicated to the lifelong friendship of Mike, myself, Keith, and Dave ( appearing in that order in the song).  I love you guys like brothers!

Embers

(Ecc. 4:9-12; Prov. 17:17; 27:17; Jn. 15:11-14; 1 Jn. 3:14)

A ray of hope.  Kinetic spark.  In the shadow of my eyes I see a light penetrate the dark.  An ironman wakes up inside me with a face of molten will.  In the canyons of my memories I see a fire that’s burning still.  That’s the thing about love.  There’s no end to a name!  It’s bound by blood.  Embers to flame.  Seattle rain.  A little Texas heat.  The Shoshone runs deep on down to Bakersfield street.  Is it flames inspired by love?  Or love inspired by flames?  With the brown and gold thread through your soul it’s a covenantal claim!  From then to now, and now to then.  We’ll lay it down, to the end.  Embers to flames, one blood in the fire.  As brothers we can stand together and make the flames grow hotter.
