Phil. 3:2-6
This is true humility portrayed. Paul makes some great points that describe our identity in Christ. We are the circumcision. This is circumcision of the heart done by the saving power of Jesus. He has made us new creations. We serve God only by His Spirit. We cannot and should not attempt to serve Him by our own strength. We boast in Jesus. We point to His amazing love and accomplishment of overcoming our sin and its consequences. We walk in grace.
We may have reasons to boast in our flesh, but we lay them down in humility, recognizing He is much greater than us. He must increase, we must decrease. Even if we do have reasons to be confident in our own flesh, they are rubbish, as we will see next week. Until then, be reminded to take your humble position and exalt Jesus. We would be nothing without Him.
