Meeting 9/5/20

Phil. 2: 25-30.

I believe there are a couple of main points in this passage well worth our attention and putting to memory.  One, there is a great need for believers to encourage each other on a regular basis.  We are called to build and lift each other up.  The devil is continually attempting to tear us down, plus "life happens".  Plus, we need to be able to lift ourselves up as well.  Our faith muscles need to be exercised and strengthened.  Put that faith into action and believe on the solid truths and promises of God.  Remember the Lord!

Secondly, in the journey, the Lord spares us from experiencing more sorrow than we can handle.  This is where we struggle because there are certainly times where it seems like He has given us more than we can handle and there's just no end in sight.  The truth of the matter is likely that it is simply more than we want to handle.  We struggle with struggling.  We don't want hard times or difficulties.  We want everything to be good, right, and work out on our behalf- and that's how we pray, isn't it?  So, when the Lord allows hardship to continue on for a time, we really struggle.  After all, it is contrary to the American way, the Good Life, and our selfish nature, right?  Nobody starts the day hoping for hard times.  It makes sense.  But we have to realize there is more going on behind the scenes than we can know or imagine.  We mustn't fall into the trap of doubting God's ability to run this show.  He is sovereign and He is good.  We must accept what He gives us and be content.  There are some things we do know, and we must stand strong in those truths.  Don't let what you don't know distract you from what you do know.  We have to have faith and trust Him for things involving what we don't know or haven't seen yet.  Know that He hears your prayers and has the perfect plan with the perfect timing for your life.  Remember that He loves you and takes good care of you.  Keep your eyes on Him.  Keep drawing close to Him.  He will provide the Way...
