4.  Lord, Lord

(Matt. 7:19-23; Rev. 3:15-16; Rom. 13:11-14; Matt. 15:8-9; 1 Cor. 15:31)

The hour has come for you to wake up.

Can you hear the bells ring in your slumber?

The end is nearer now than when we first believed.

The night is nearly over and the day is almost here.

I can have all of the greater glory,

But I am nothing without love.

I don’t want to cry, “Lord, Lord” ‘cause You know the things I did do.

I don’t want to say anything at all when I stand in front of You.

All I want to hear is “Well done”.  I’ve got to know I did Your will.

Let the Spirit burn it all away until it finds something real!

I can hear a sound coming off your lips.

Is that your heart or a deceiving hiss?

What is this fruit, neither cold nor hot?

I can’t stand the taste and I think I’ll spit it out.

Was it not enough I dressed in black to die today?

Someone told me I could hide from the Son in this masquerade.
